Stories from camp

Four Sanskriti students joined the Gifted Summer Program 2026 — two on the three-week Neuroscience course in May, two on the two-week Explorers course in June. These moments are drawn from their instructors' and counsellors' camp observations.

The youngest in the group — “and you can't tell”

Aarya, Grade 8 · GSP 2026, Explorers

Aarya built a string telephone with three classmates, then spent the rest of the session working out exactly where along the string to press to change the sound arriving at the other end. She designed her own paper plane and parachute rather than copying the standard approach — and both performed strongly.

You can't tell.

Questions past the edge of the task

Aarya, Grade 8 · GSP 2026, Explorers

Her questions ran well past the activity in front of her: why are scientific names written in Latin? What would you find inside a black hole if you were not spaghettified? The moment her counsellor remembers best is quieter — photographing the class's mandala art, she looked down to find Aarya had silently slid the counsellor's own mandala into the frame, with her name written on it.

A milestone in confidence

Siyona · GSP 2026, Neuroscience (second year at camp)

Returning for a second year, Siyona overcame her shyness to sing “Love Story” in front of her whole residential group — the milestone her staff singled out from the entire camp.
